Human Resources Generalist . This role is designed as a
succession position , with the opportunity to advance into the
Human Resources Manager
role within approximately two years as the current leader prepares for retirement. This position offers broad exposure across the full HR function and is ideal for an HR professional who enjoys hands-on work, cross-functional collaboration, and building strong relationships with employees and leadership. What You’ll Do As the Human Resources Generalist, you will support day-to-day HR operations across multiple locations while helping strengthen a positive, compliant, and engaged workplace culture. Key Responsibilities Include: Recruitment & Onboarding Partner with hiring managers to develop job descriptions and manage full-cycle recruiting
Promote employer branding in local communities and at job fairs
Coordinate with external recruiting agencies as needed
Conduct interviews and oversee onboarding for new hires
Occasional travel to job fairs and other company locations
Employee Relations & Policy Management Serve as the primary HR contact for employee questions and concerns
Support managers with performance management, corrective action, and investigations
Ensure compliance with multi-state employment laws and internal policies
Assist with updating employee handbooks and HR procedures
Champion employee engagement initiatives, surveys, and retention efforts
Coordinate and help lead annual HR training programs
Compensation, Benefits & HR Administration Maintain accurate employee records in the HRIS (Dayforce)
Assist employees with benefits enrollment, open enrollment, and retirement plans
Support payroll processes, including timesheets, pay changes, and audits
Administer terminations, exit interviews, and COBRA
Manage workers’ compensation claims and OSHA documentation
Assist with year-end bonus payouts and reporting
Leadership & Growth Work closely with the HR Manager and leadership team
Participate in talent development, compensation review cycles, and succession planning
Gain exposure and responsibility in preparation for progression into the HR Manager role
What We’re Looking For
Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources
or
HR certification (PHR, SHRM-CP, or similar)
5–7 years of progressive HR experience
Strong knowledge of multi-state employment compliance
Working knowledge of labor laws including FMLA, FLSA, ADA, and EEO
Experience using HRIS and applicant tracking systems
Strong communication, judgment, and problem-solving skills
Preferred HR experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment
Experience supporting hourly workforces across multiple locations
