Applies acquired skills and professional clinical applications concepts for small to medium‑size projects of moderate scope. Operates independently within the defined scope of responsibilities.

The APeX Ambulatory Analyst must achieve EpicCare Ambulatory certification (within 6 months of hire).

The salary range for this position is $81,200 – $131,100 (Annual Rate).

Department Description Health IT is responsible for all aspects of the UCSF electronic health record software, Epic, also known as Apex (Advancing Patient‑Centered Excellence). The APeX Ambulatory Analyst will work in collaboration with senior Ambulatory analysts, other APeX application teams, clinical/business operations, and guides to enhance and maintain the Epic electronic health record.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in health care information technology, computer science, or related area, and/or equivalent combination of experience/training.

Two years relevant work experience.

Epic Ambulatory certification completed within 6 months of start date.

Working knowledge of clinical applications systems and functions, including development, implementation, user support, maintenance, and system testing and evaluation.

Demonstrated problem‑solving skills, with the ability to diagnose problems quickly and develop multiple options for effective resolution.

Demonstrated interpersonal and customer‑service skills to collaborate productively on a team and provide training and support to clinical providers and staff.

Detail‑oriented, with demonstrated organizational skills and the ability to manage time efficiently, prioritize tasks, set schedules, and complete projects in a timely and cost‑effective manner.

Demonstrated skills in written and verbal communications, with the ability to convey technical information to clinical users in a clear and concise manner.

Working knowledge of departmental systems and procedures for documentation and reporting, with the ability to perform tests and analyze and interpret relevant data.

Ability to work with senior staff and managers, serving as a technical resource and providing advice and counsel on issues of functionality, efficiency, cost‑effectiveness, policy, and performance.

Preferred Qualifications

Clinical license of RN, MA or other tech license/certification.

License/Certification

Epic Ambulatory certification completed within 6 months of start date.
