APeX Application Analyst, Ambulatory – Flexible Posted 4 days ago. This role requires onsite work at least one day per week.

Overview Applies acquired skills and professional clinical application concepts for small to medium-sized projects of moderate scope. Operates independently within the defined scope of responsibilities. The APeX Ambulatory team falls under the Health IT department, responsible for maintenance and expansion of UCSF electronic health record (Epic) and related technologies. This analyst will report directly to the APeX Ambulatory Team Lead/Supervisor and the APeX Ambulatory Manager. Must achieve EpicCare Ambulatory certification within 6 months of hire. Key Responsibilities • Provide excellent customer service to end users, track issues, and follow up as appropriate.

• Work across multiple locations, including UCSF Medical Center, Benioff Children’s Hospitals (Oakland, San Francisco), UCSF campus, and community partner sites.

• Collaborate with senior Ambulatory analysts, other APeX application teams, clinical/business operations, and guides to enhance and maintain the Epic electronic health record.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in health care information technology, computer science, or related area, and/or equivalent combination of experience/training.

Two years of relevant work experience.

Epic Ambulatory certification completed within 6 months of start date.

Knowledge of clinical applications systems and functions, including development, implementation, user support, maintenance, and system testing.

Demonstrated problem‑solving skills to diagnose issues and develop multiple resolution options.

Interpersonal and customer‑service skills to collaborate productively and provide training and support.

Detail‑oriented with strong organization skills to manage time, prioritize, and complete projects efficiently.

Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to convey technical information clearly.

Knowledge of departmental systems and procedures for documentation and reporting, with ability to perform tests and analyze data.

Ability to work with senior staff and managers as a technical resource, providing advice on functionality, efficiency, policy, and performance.

Preferred Qualifications

Clinical license of RN, MA or other tech license/certification.

License / Certification
