Senior Recruiting Manager at The Axel Group, LLC The Axel Group is seeking a Director of Sales to join our client’s team out of the Northeast. This firm—a well‑established industrial and commercial materials distributor and fabricator—specializes in providing high‑quality insulation and related building products to the construction, industrial, and commercial markets. The business operates a network of facilities throughout the eastern United States, supporting customers with a broad inventory and value‑added fabrication services. The Director of Sales role involves regular travel to the firm’s distribution centers across New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Delaware, Maryland, and Virginia, with the position based in Middlesex County, New Jersey or Delaware County, Pennsylvania.
Responsibilities
Lead and oversee all sales operations, including regional sales teams of approximately 20 inside and outside salespeople, account management, and new business development.
Develop and implement a comprehensive sales strategy aligned with the firm’s growth goals.
Analyze market trends, customer needs, and competitive landscape to identify new opportunities.
Establish performance metrics and goals for the sales team; regularly monitor and report on progress.
Cultivate relationships with key clients, suppliers, and industry partners.
Collaborate with executive leadership, marketing, and operations to support company‑wide objectives.
Provide mentorship, coaching, and professional development to the sales team.
Oversee contract negotiations, pricing strategy, and profitability analysis.
Monitor industry developments and maintain a strong knowledge of insulation products, trends, and regulatory issues.
Present key sales insights, performance trends, and strategic recommendations at the firm’s quarterly and annual meetings.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field (MBA preferred).
10+ years of progressive sales experience.
5+ years of experience in a sales management role.
Strong background in the mechanical insulation industry or a closely related building materials sector is required.
Proven track record of driving revenue growth and building high‑performing sales teams.
Exceptional communication, negotiation, and leadership skills.
Ability to travel regularly to support regional teams and client relationships.
Base Salary + Bonus.
