FIRM INTRODUCTION ARG Conservation Services, PMR Pacific Sealants, and Pacific Masonry Restorations are a family of companies that provide construction services in general contracting for preservation of cultural and historic sites, masonry and building envelope waterproofing. The principals of all three companies are nationally recognized leaders in their respective fields. Below is a description of each company and what services we offer:

ARG CONSERVATION SERVICES (ARG/CS) Lic. #: 799537 ARG Conservation Services is a general contracting firm specializing in the remedial repair of existing commercial buildings, preservation of historic architecture including public art & monuments, historic collections and cultural sites. Services include design/build for seismic strengthening and other types of upgrades.

PMR PACIFIC SEALANTS (PS) Lic. #: 1077196 Pacific Sealants, established in 1985, is a waterproofing subcontracting firm specializing in joint sealants and waterproofing. Pacific Sealants has long established relationships with general contractors, waterproofing consultants, property management companies and building owners.

PACIFIC MASONRY RESTORATIONS (PMR) Lic. #: 993195 Pacific Masonry Restoration is a masonry firm founded to provide repair of existing masonry buildings and construction of new masonry structures. PMR specializing in the repair of new and archaic masonry such as stone, brick, terra cotta, tile and concrete materials. PMR also offers services including demolition, stucco repair, painting, etc.

Our combined expertise provides clients a key turn experience for all types of exterior façade construction and renovation.

Position Summary The Controller is responsible for overseeing the financial operations of the company, including financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, internal controls, job cost accounting, and compliance. This role is crucial in ensuring the financial health and integrity of the construction company, supporting strategic decision‑making, and providing leadership to the accounting team.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Management & Reporting

Prepare timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP.

Maintain the general ledger and oversee the month‑end and year‑end close process.

Develop and monitor key financial metrics and KPIs relevant to construction operations.

Job Cost Accounting

Oversee job costing processes, ensuring accurate allocation of labor, materials, equipment, and overhead.

Work closely with project managers and estimators to track project budgets, cost‑to‑complete reports, and profit margins.

Provide regular job cost reports and variance analysis.

Budgeting & Forecasting

Lead the annual budgeting process and periodic reforecasting.

Prepare cash flow forecasts and monitor working capital needs.

Compliance & Risk Management

Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local tax laws and regulations.

Coordinate with external auditors, banks, and bonding companies.

Maintain adequate internal controls to safeguard company assets.

Leadership & Team Management

Supervise, mentor, and develop the accounting team (AP/AR, payroll, etc.).

Collaborate with executives and operations leaders to align financial strategy with business goals.

Recommend improvements to financial processes and systems.

Technology & Systems

Manage the accounting software Sage 100 Contractor.

Ensure integration between financial systems and project management software.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA or MBA preferred). Minimum 10 years of accounting experience, with at least 3 years in the construction industry.

Strong understanding of construction job costing, WIP (Work‑in‑Progress) schedules, and revenue recognition (percentage‑of‑completion method).

Proficiency in construction accounting software Sage 100 Contractor.

Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.

Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced, deadline‑driven environment.

Preferred Attributes

Experience working with bonded projects or union payroll.

Familiarity with project management software and integrated ERP systems.

Strong leadership skills and a hands‑on approach to problem‑solving.

Working Conditions

Initial six months assume on‑site at least two to three days a week to become familiar with staff and procedures.

Office‑based with occasional site visits as needed.

Standard business hours with occasional extended hours during peak periods or audits.
