Vice President / Head of Building Diagnostics, Forensics & Construction Consulting - Southern California A growing structural engineering firm with multiple Southern California offices is looking for a Project Engineer to join a fast paced, collaborative team. This role offers a strong mix of design responsibilities, field work, and client interaction, making it a great opportunity for someone who enjoys variety and wants to grow into a leadership position.
About the Role
You will work on a wide range of building projects while taking on both office and field responsibilities. Expect to contribute to design, coordinate with architects and contractors, support project management efforts, and conduct structural observations. You will be trusted with meaningful responsibility and will have the chance to manage projects as your experience grows.
What You Will Do
Prepare structural calculations, sketches, and coordinate drawings with drafting staff
Support construction administration tasks, including responding to RFIs and performing site visits
Interact directly with clients and consultants on project issues
Supervise and coordinate with junior engineers and drafters
Maintain technical accuracy and quality control for assigned work
Serve as Project Manager on select assignments and report to the Principal in Charge
Collaborate closely with Project Managers on schedule, budget, and deliverables
What You Bring
Active Professional Engineer license
Strong technical foundation in structural engineering
Ability to balance design, field work, and client communication
Clear communication skills and a collaborative mindset
Ability to manage multiple tasks and help guide junior team members
Desire to grow into a larger role with increased responsibility
