Job Overview
An experienced estate planning attorney with 5+ years of experience is needed to join our esteemed legal firm in Chicago, IL. We offer a hybrid work environment. Base salary range is $140,000 – $190,000 per year.
We are a one‑stop shop for estate planning, T&E administration, and tax services.
Responsibilities
Provide expert legal advice on estate planning, wills, trusts, and related matters.
Develop and implement complex estate plans, including drafting wills, trusts, powers of attorney, and other estate planning documents.
Advise clients on tax planning strategies to minimize estate, gift, and generation‑skipping transfer taxes.
Assist clients with charitable planning, including establishing charitable trusts and foundations.
Represent clients before tax authorities and in probate court proceedings.
Conduct legal research and keep abreast of changes in estate planning, tax, and probate law.
Collaborate with other attorneys, paralegals, and support staff to ensure the delivery of high‑quality legal services.
Maintain strict confidentiality of client information and adhere to professional ethics.
Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, ensuring their needs are met and expectations exceeded.
Qualifications
Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
Admission to the state bar.
Minimum of 2‑5 years of experience in estate planning, wills, trusts, tax planning, and charitable planning.
Thorough knowledge of estate planning, tax, probate, and trust law.
Excellent legal research, writing, and negotiation skills.
Ability to handle complex legal issues and provide practical legal advice.
Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with clients and work effectively in a team.
High level of integrity and professional responsibility.
Ability to manage multiple tasks, work under pressure, and meet deadlines.
Proficiency in legal research software and Microsoft Office applications.
