Chief Compliance Officer
Responsible for Compliance and Risk functions for the bank and serves as audit liaison for all internal and external audits and examinations. The role is mission critical for maintaining a secure, regulatory‑compliant environment for the client financial institution and protects non‑public information for employees and customers.
Responsibilities
Foster a bank‑wide culture with a regulatory compliance component in every staff position and function.
Design and implement a comprehensive, bank‑specific Compliance Management System (CMS) with multiple levels of responsibility and oversight.
Review federal regulations, map applicability to specific products and activities, and ensure operating procedures incorporate accurate compliance outcomes.
Integrate new regulations and regulatory interpretations into operating procedures to ensure prompt compliance.
Conduct annual Compliance Risk Assessments to guide audit schedules.
Coordinate and interface with FDIC staff during periodic examinations.
Coordinate or conduct annual risk assessments across broad areas of the bank, providing senior management and the Board with the current risk profile.
Oversee the bank’s records retention and disposal programs.
Responsibility for Disaster Recovery, Business Continuity, Incident Response programs and their periodic testing.
Conduct periodic Compliance Committee meetings.
Establish and maintain a CRA program; develop and submit a CRA Public File to the Board, ensuring public availability upon request.
Monitor CRA performance and recommend improvements to senior management.
Provide training to assure bank compliance with CRA expectations.
Maintain and communicate audit/exam exception items via audit monitoring spreadsheet.
Ensure management responses to audit findings are timely and complete.
Work with audit partners to ensure audit scope is risk‑based and detailed.
Prepare audit package for Audit Committee meetings, presenting Audit Schedule and Audit Tracker.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, or related field.
Minimum ten (10) years of banking experience within the defined market.
Strong knowledge of regulatory bodies (FDIC, OCC, FinCEN, Federal Reserve, NCUA) and related regulations and guidance.
Experience with business continuity planning, disaster recovery techniques, auditing, and regulatory requirements for banks.
Expertise in risk management, contract and vendor negotiation, and security technologies.
Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and web‑based applications.
Certifications such as CPA, CIA, or CRCM preferred.

Salary: Annual $185,000 – $275,000 USD.
