Job Summary The Director of Quality provides strategic leadership and oversight for quality improvement and patient safety initiatives across the organization. This role serves as a key advisor to clinical and operational leadership, ensuring continuous readiness, compliance with regulatory requirements, and excellence in healthcare delivery. The Director leverages clinical expertise, quality improvement methodologies, and data-driven strategies to promote best practices, optimize care standards, and drive measurable improvements in patient outcomes.
Duties and Responsibilities Quality & Patient Safety Leadership
Implement and monitor enterprise-wide quality improvement programs, ensuring adherence to industry standards and regulatory requirements.
Serve as a consultative resource to all levels of staff, fostering a culture of accountability and excellence in care.
Track, trend, interpret, and share outcomes data with clinical leadership to drive strategic decision-making.
Provide leadership for continuous performance improvement, maintaining alignment with national, state, and local quality measures.
Regulatory & Compliance Readiness
Oversee compliance with CMS, AHCA, and other regulatory bodies, ensuring survey preparedness and adherence to quality standards.
Lead efforts in formulating responses to regulatory inquiries and third-party payor reviews.
Maintain up-to-date policies and procedures to support accreditation, licensing, and compliance requirements.
Process Improvement & Performance Management: Facilitate and support interdisciplinary process improvement teams, ensuring structured and effective execution of quality initiatives.
Oversee clinical performance improvement strategies, ensuring facility-wide integration and alignment with healthcare system objectives.
Ensure results-driven performance improvement initiatives are embedded into operational workflows.
Stakeholder Engagement & Leadership
Support and act as a trusted advisor to staff and leadership, providing guidance on business plans that enhance quality of care.
Actively participate in clinical staff and committee meetings, ensuring alignment with strategic goals.
Manage the Medical Peer Review process for designated facilities, ensuring timely and effective execution.
Data Analytics & Reporting
Develop standardized reports on quality outcomes, delivering insights to leadership teams.
Collect data concurrently and retrospectively, ensuring accurate tracking of performance metrics.
Perform other related job duties as assigned.
Experience
Generally requires 5 to 7 years of related experience. Management experience is strongly preferred.
Education
Bachelor's degree in a related healthcare field is required. Master's degree is preferred.
Credentials
Valid license or certification is required as needed, based on the job or specialty.
