The Opportunity We partner with manufacturers across Otsego seeking Tooling Engineers who want more than a lateral move. Key Responsibilities Design, develop, and modify tooling, dies, jigs, and fixtures for manufacturing processes. Optimize tooling performance, lifespan, and efficiency through continuous improvement initiatives. Diagnose and troubleshoot tooling-related issues, implementing effective corrective actions. Manage tooling maintenance schedules, repairs, and inventory to minimize downtime. Collaborate with production, design, and quality teams on new product introduction and tooling requirements. Ensure all tooling adheres to quality standards, safety regulations, and specified tolerances. Evaluate and recommend new tooling technologies, materials, and manufacturing methods. Recommended Qualifications Proficiency in CAD/CAM software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Mastercam). Strong understanding of manufacturing processes such as machining, injection molding, or stamping. Knowledge of material science, heat treatment, and surface finishes for tooling applications. Experience with Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) and metrology principles. Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot, optimize, and improve tooling performance. Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related technical field. Bonus Qualifications Experience with advanced simulation software (e.g., Moldflow, FEA) for tool design validation. Certification in Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma methodologies. Proficiency in programming CNC machines or robotics for tooling applications. Project management experience, particularly with new tool development or deployment.
