Key Responsibilities Design, develop, and optimize new and existing production tooling, fixtures, and molds. Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for tooling-related production issues. Manage the maintenance, repair, and modification of all manufacturing tooling. Collaborate with design, manufacturing, and quality teams to ensure tooling meets product specifications and production requirements. Specify, evaluate, and procure new tooling and equipment from external vendors. Develop and maintain comprehensive tooling documentation, including CAD models, drawings, and maintenance logs. Implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance tooling performance, lifespan, and cost-efficiency. Recommended Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related technical field 3 years of experience in tooling design, development, or maintenance within a manufacturing environment Proficiency with CAD/CAM software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD, CATIA) for tool design and analysis Strong understanding of manufacturing processes such as injection molding, stamping, machining, or casting Demonstrated knowledge of GD&T, material properties, and heat treatment for tool steels Experience with root cause analysis and continuous improvement methodologies for tooling issues Bonus Qualifications Experience with Additive Manufacturing (3D printing) for tooling applications. Proficiency in Finite Element Analysis (FEA) or other simulation software for tool validation. Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma certification. Experience with Mold Flow Analysis software for injection molding tooling. Knowledge of automation or robotics integration in manufacturing processes.
