Key Responsibilities Design and develop new tooling, fixtures, and jigs to support manufacturing processes. Analyze and troubleshoot tooling failures, implementing corrective actions to minimize downtime. Manage and optimize tooling maintenance schedules and repair procedures. Collaborate with production, design, and quality teams to ensure tooling meets product specifications and production requirements. Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives for tooling design, materials, and manufacturing processes. Specify and procure tooling materials and components, ensuring quality and cost-effectiveness. Conduct root cause analysis for tooling-related defects and implement preventative measures. Recommended Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field. Proficiency in CAD/CAM software for tooling design, simulation, and analysis. Strong understanding of manufacturing processes such as injection molding, stamping, machining, or casting. Proven experience in designing, developing, and optimizing various production tooling (molds, dies, jigs, fixtures). Ability to diagnose tooling issues, perform root cause analysis, and drive continuous improvement. Bonus Qualifications Experience with Finite Element Analysis (FEA) or mold flow simulation software. Familiarity with additive manufacturing (3D printing) processes for tooling components or prototypes. Certification in Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma methodologies. Knowledge of specialized tooling materials such as advanced ceramics, carbides, or superalloys.
