We are searching for the best talent for a Senior Director R&D Strategy & Operations. This is a hybrid role available in multiple cities within the United States. Multiple locations are listed for reference; they are examples only and do not limit your application. The Sr Director of Strategy & Operations R&D Digital & Robotics plays a critical strategic and operational role in ensuring the effective execution of our research & development strategy. This leader will build and lead the execution of a strategic R&D roadmap, initiatives, special projects, and multi‑platform improvements across people, culture, process, products, and infrastructure, identified in partnership with leadership. Responsibilities

Build and lead the execution of the strategic R&D roadmap, initiatives, and special projects. Drive R&D budget planning, coordination, and consolidation for Digital & Robotics R&D with other key leaders and finance partners. Serve as the key Digital & Robotics R&D liaison with finance partners, delivering a best‑in‑class R&D financial plan that spans Robotics, Digital & Capital. Lead business planning for Digital & Robotics R&D special projects and critical initiatives. Administer uniform operating mechanisms and process improvements, manage meeting setup and communications, and drive content and cadence across project groups. Shape and deliver a uniform partnership across Digital & Robotics R&D projects for Supply Chain & SCR reviews. Maintain executional alignment across R&D and supporting functions/COEs. Own input and operational expertise for R&D management reviews, including scenario development, trade‑off implications, and capital improvement evaluation. Lead Digital & Robotics RD leadership team meeting agendas, ensuring effective decision making and tracking action items. Build organizational knowledge of external R&D trends and best practices, applying them where appropriate. Consolidate and provide R&D inputs for senior ad‑hoc management requests, monthly reporting, quarterly executive management reviews. Shape goals & objectives (G&O) to align R&D initiatives and report progress across the organization. Drive strategic special initiatives to improve operational excellence and impact on innovation and growth. Lead Digital & Robotics R&D town halls and communications processes. Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent required. Medical Device/Orthopaedics and/or Regulated Industry experience highly preferred. Minimum of 15 years of people leadership preferred. Process optimization for multi‑disciplinary systems in regulated industries. Expert detailed orientation and organization. Strong project & portfolio management skills in Digital organizations. Strong change leadership and collaboration skills. Demonstrated succession management, accelerated innovation, and growth leadership. Deep experience in strategic plan execution and business acumen. Leveraged partnerships and pipeline delivery background. Strong leadership, matrixed environment experience, and influence of major change initiatives. Culture of innovation and inclusive talent development. Effective decision making, R&D transformation experience, and travel flexibility up to 25% domestic and international. Orthopedics

The anticipated base pay range for this position is $178,000 – $307,050. The position is eligible for an annual performance bonus and long‑term incentive program. Additional benefits include medical, dental, vision, life insurance, disability, group legal insurance, 401(k), and paid time off.
