GenESIS Team : We’re building the next generation of embedded platform software to power Blue Origin’s entire fleet of space vehicles. As part of GenESIS, you’ll work at the convergence of mission‑critical embedded systems and cutting‑edge Generative AI technology.

Your Impact : You’ll collaborate with hardware and systems engineers to develop essential platform software—drivers, middleware, IoT integration, and performance‑optimized tools—enabling every Blue Origin business unit to safely transport people and payloads to orbit and beyond.

In This Position, You Will

Explore a development program that offers hands‑on experience across the entire software development lifecycle.

Build platform software for embedded avionics systems, including device drivers, middleware, and applications.

Partner closely with hardware and systems engineers to shape software requirements and integrate across multiple hardware platforms.

Contribute to architecture and design discussions that influence the future of embedded systems.

Drive innovation through performance optimization and scalable, portable software solutions.

Ensure high quality by conducting comprehensive testing, debugging, and performance analysis across varied hardware environments.

Create clear documentation, including requirements, design specifications, and API references.

Mentor through collaborative code reviews and constructive feedback.

Integrate avionics platform software into a portfolio of groundbreaking products.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field.

10+ years of embedded software development experience.

Proficiency in C/C++ programming.

Deep understanding of real‑time systems, multitasking, and synchronization.

Experience with software loaders, device drivers, middleware, and low‑level interfaces.

Knowledge of multiple hardware architectures (ARM, x86) and RTOS/Linux embedded environments.

Experience with CI/CD environments and tools such as GitLab, Jira, Confluence.

Strong problem‑solving skills and collaborative teamwork experience.

Excellent communication skills and commitment to team culture.

Preferred Qualifications

Familiarity with NASA Core Flight Software (CFE).

Knowledge of communication protocols (SPI, I²C, UART, CAN) and networking protocols (TCP/IP, UDP, MQTT).

Experience in safety‑critical software development within aerospace, automotive, or similar industries.

Compensation Range (Based on Region) CA: $177,567.00 – $248,593.80; CO: $163,272.00 – $228,579.75; WA: $177,567.00 – $248,593.80
