Director of Pharmacy – Roosevelt, UT
This position serves a large area of eastern Utah and offers small town living nestled between Salt Lake City and Denver. The area provides outdoor recreation including fishing, hunting, biking, hiking, golfing, water sports, skiing, snowmobiling and white water rafting. Educational opportunities include a technical college and a regional campus of a four‑year university.
What They're Looking For
Bachelor's or Doctorate in Pharmacy required.
Utah Pharmacy License or ability to obtain one.
3–5 years of recent hospital experience.
Hours And Compensation
Full‑time position. Pharmacy hours M‑F 6 am–6 pm, Sat‑Sun 6 am–4 pm, Holidays 6 am–12 noon. Staffing includes two rotating 7‑on‑7‑off pharmacists plus PRN pharmacists and three technicians per day.
Salary range $146 K–$190 K, depending on experience.
Full benefits package and a $20 K sign‑on/relo incentive.
What You’ll Be Doing
Direct the department's activities and resources to achieve departmental and organizational objectives.
Develop and implement departmental goals, plans and standards consistent with clinical, administrative, legal and ethical requirements.
Direct and evaluate departmental operations, including patient care delivery, information technologies, service level determination and complaint management, to achieve performance and quality control objectives.
Plan and monitor staffing activities: hiring, orienting, evaluating, disciplinary actions and continuing education initiatives.
Prepare, monitor and evaluate departmental budgets, ensuring compliance with allocated funding.
Coordinate and direct internal and external audits.
Create and foster an environment that encourages professional growth.
Integrate evidence‑based practices into operations and clinical protocols.
Exhibit a comprehensive understanding of health‑care regulatory and compliance requirements (e.g., HIPAA).
Manage the work of others: planning, assigning, scheduling, reviewing work, ensuring quality standards, and carrying out hiring, termination, training, performance review and corrective action.
