Job Description:
- The Patient Services Representative I represents the face of the company to patients visiting for routine health needs or critical health decisions.
- This role is responsible for drawing quality blood samples and preparing specimens for laboratory testing while following established procedures.
- The role requires direct patient interaction, creating an atmosphere of trust and confidence, and demonstrating leadership behaviors with a strong focus on confidentiality, accuracy, and process excellence.
- Perform daily activities accurately and on time under the direction of the area supervisor.
- Maintain a safe and professional work environment.
- Perform forensic and clinical specimen collection and processing following established procedures.
- Prepare specimens for laboratory testing according to guidelines.
- Maintain required records and documentation.
- Promote a positive image to patients, clients, employees, and the public.
- Ability to provide quality, error-free work in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work independently with minimal on-site supervision.
- Excellent phlebotomy skills, including pediatric and geriatric collections.
- Flexible availability based on staffing needs, including weekends, holidays, on-call, and overtime.
- Minimum of 6 months of phlebotomy experience required.
- One or more years of phlebotomy experience preferred.
- Customer service experience in a retail or service environment preferred.
- Keyboard and data entry experience required.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Medical assistant or paramedic training preferred.
- Phlebotomy certification preferred and required in certain states.
