Global GTM & Technical Team Builder & Director @ Scout Global Sales Engineering Manager US As the first Sales Engineering Manager in the business, you’ll lead and scale a Sales Engineering function at the intersection of technology, sales, and customer impact — making AI adoption real for mid-market and enterprise organizations across the US. You’ll manage, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of Sales Engineers while remaining close to customers and deals, partnering with Sales leadership to drive revenue and technical excellence.
This role is ideal for a player-coach who combines deep technical credibility with strong leadership skills, thrives in fast-paced environments, and is excited to shape how companies adopt generative AI at scale. You’ll help define best practices, influence product direction, and ensure our technical sales motion is world-class as we grow.
What You’ll Do and Achieve:
Build, lead, and mentor a team of Sales Engineers, fostering technical excellence, curiosity, and customer empathy.
Partner closely with Sales leadership and Account Executives to define and execute the technical sales strategy.
Oversee and support technical discovery with prospects to understand workflows, data landscapes, and success criteria.
Ensure delivery of high-impact demos, proof-of-concepts, and workshops that clearly communicate platform value and drive urgency.
Act as an escalation point and trusted advisor on complex or strategic opportunities, influencing stakeholders from data teams to executives.
Standardize solution architectures, demo assets, and technical sales processes to improve consistency and scalability.
Translate customer business requirements into tailored solution designs, ROI frameworks, and value narratives.
Partner with Product and Engineering to provide structured feedback from the field, helping shape roadmap and improve customer experience.
Oversee responses to RFPs, security reviews, and technical documentation to remove friction from the buying process.
Track and improve key performance metrics for the Sales Engineering team, including win rates, deal velocity, and customer satisfaction.
Represent the business at industry events, webinars, and executive briefings to elevate our technical credibility.
Stay ahead of trends in AI, LLMs, and the modern data stack, ensuring the team remains trusted experts and consultative leaders.
Who You Are:
2/3+ years’ experience building and managing successful presales teams
5+ years of experience in a Sales Engineer, Solutions Consultant, or similar technical pre-sales role.
5+ years experience working within the modern data space (BI, data analytics, data warehousing etc)
Strong technical fluency with topics like APIs, data pipelines, vector databases, and/or LLM application development.
Exceptional presenter — able to run live demos with confidence and tailor messages to audience personas.
Comfortable scripting/light coding (Python, SQL, or similar) to support POCs or demos.
Experience supporting fast-growth start-up GTM teams and working cross-functionally with product and engineering.
Adept at building trust with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Passionate about AI, knowledge automation, and the evolving future of work.
Based in the United States (remote-friendly; occasional travel for onsite meetings and events).
