Title : Chief Operating Officer (COO)

Location : Remote US (EST hours)

About the Role : Alex and Ani is seeking a strategic leader to partner closely with the CEO and leadership team as the company enters its next phase of growth. This role combines operational leadership with strategic oversight, ensuring the company scales efficiently while maintaining financial discipline and operational excellence. The individual will have responsibility for select business units and be involved in driving revenue growth, margin performance, and operational execution. They will work with senior leaders to optimize commercial levers, support profitable scaling, and safeguard the brand’s integrity. This is a strategic, cross‑functional role for a collaborative operator who thrives in complexity, brings strong financial judgment, and can influence outcomes across the organization.

What You’ll Do

Set strategy, operating plans, and growth targets for assigned business units.

Own end‑to‑end P&L responsibility, including revenue, gross margin, operating expenses, and profitability.

Build and manage annual and quarterly forecasts; identify risks and opportunities and course‑correct as needed.

Establish clear KPIs, dashboards, and performance rhythms to drive accountability and execution.

Collaborate with senior functional leaders to optimize the revenue funnel, including acquisition, conversion, retention, and lifetime value.

Provide strategic direction on pricing, promotions, merchandising, and assortment to maximize revenue and margin.

Oversee core operational functions through functional leaders, including supply chain, fulfillment, inventory planning, cost control, and customer support.

Balance brand integrity with growth initiatives.

Serve as a key thought partner to the CEO, aligning teams and fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

What We’re Looking For

Proven experience in a COO, GM, or senior operator role within an e‑commerce or consumer brand.

At least 2 years of experience working in a rigorous analytical environment, such as consulting or private equity.

Demonstrated P&L ownership and success scaling revenue while improving margins.

Deep understanding of e‑commerce growth levers: acquisition, conversion, retention, merchandising, pricing, and inventory.

Highly analytical and data‑driven, able to turn insights into actionable strategies.

Skilled at operating at both strategic and cross‑functional levels.

Strong leadership presence with the ability to influence and align teams.

Decisive, strategic, and comfortable navigating ambiguity.

Nice to have: Experience managing multiple business units or product lines, or background in high‑growth consumer brands.
