Armed Security Officer
Report to: Project Manager. Full‑time position.
Responsibilities
Perform a variety of security‑related duties depending on the post.
Patrol and monitor exterior and community areas on‑premises.
Control access at entrances and exits, including employees and visitors.
Monitor surveillance cameras for any disruptions or unlawful activities.
Read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
Understand, interpret, and apply rules, regulations, directives, and procedures per contract.
Provide detailed reports on daily activities and incidents that may have occurred.
Use magnetometer and X‑ray machines effectively.
Communicate clearly and concisely with two‑way radios and other provided devices.
Perform CPR or first aid when needed.
Maintain credentials per contract requirements.
Perform other duties as assigned by the Supervisor or Project Manager.
Qualifications
High school diploma, GED, or Associate's Degree.
Two (2) years of verifiable experience as an armed security officer.
Current and valid DC Armed Security Guard Card/permit.
Active DC Armed SPO, O.C. aerosol spray, baton.
Knowledgeable of the security industry.
Customer service‑driven mindset.
Excellent communication skills with ability to present information to all levels of internal and external customers/clients.
Certification: DC Armed SPO, CPR/First Aid, baton, handcuffing tactics and instruction, O.C. aerosol spray.
At least 2 years of college (if applying for higher education).
