Respiratory Therapist (RRT) PT - New Rates
Location: Washington, DC

Pay: USD $39.96/Hr. – USD $59.94/Hr.
License Required: District of Columbia Health Regulation RRT (Registered Respiratory Therapist)

Responsibilities
Fulfills the needs of patients, families and community by performing routine and intensive therapy, diagnostic procedures and patient assessments in accordance with licensure, certification, training and regulatory requirements.
Maintains and stocks respiratory equipment ensuring ventilator and life support equipment are operable.
Provides timely and effective communication, both verbal and written, with interdisciplinary care teams.
Ensures confidentiality and adapts to multiple and changing priorities.
Uses basic computer skills for documentation and customer service-related tasks.
Identifies and addresses the needs of the population served, including acute care settings.
Participates in emergency response teams and provides emergency department care.
Assists with ventilator weaning, pulmonary care, and tracheostomy management.
Qualifications
Graduate of an approved two-year respiratory therapist program.
Licensed as RRT by the District of Columbia Health Regulation and certified by NBRC.
Licensed as CRT or RRT to become registered within one year if applicable.
BLS Basic Life Support for Health Care Professionals required.
ACLS and PALS within six months of hire.
Minimum 0–1 year full‑time experience as a Certified Respiratory Therapist in an acute care setting.
Excellent critical thinking, communication and problem‑solving skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast‑paced, high‑pressure environment.
Strong organizational and attention-to-detail skills.
