Position Overview
The Senior Accountant - Accounting Policy will play a key role in developing, maintaining, and implementing the company's
GAAP and Statutory (STAT) accounting policies . This position requires strong technical accounting expertise, the ability to interpret complex standards, and experience drafting and updating accounting policy manuals. The role will also provide guidance to business units and ensure compliance with regulatory and financial reporting requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Develop, maintain, and update the
Accounting Policy Manual
to reflect current
GAAP and STAT
requirements.
Research and interpret new accounting standards and regulatory guidance; assess impact on financial reporting and operations.
Provide technical accounting support to business units and finance teams on complex transactions.
Ensure consistent application of accounting policies across the organization.
Assist in preparing technical memos and documentation for internal and external auditors.
Support the implementation of new accounting standards and related system/process changes.
Collaborate with FP&A, Treasury, and other departments to ensure alignment of policy with operational practices.
Participate in special projects related to accounting policy, compliance, and process improvement.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA strongly preferred.
Minimum
5+ years of experience
in accounting policy, technical accounting, or audit (Big 4 experience a plus).
Strong knowledge of
GAAP and Statutory accounting principles
and regulatory reporting requirements.
Excellent research, writing, and communication skills for drafting policy and technical documentation.
Ability to analyze complex transactions and provide clear guidance.
Experience with ERP systems and financial reporting platforms.
