Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Quality Manager to join our Non‑Destructive Testing (NDT) quality team located in Berkeley, MO.
Responsibilities
Manage a team of FLL and Technical NDT personnel, fostering a culture that prioritizes safety, quality, and continuous improvement to drive high performance and operational excellence.
Acquire and manage resources effectively to ensure inspections meet all customer and technical requirements while supporting and adhering to committed delivery dates.
Develop and evaluate NDT cost and price proposals, along with comprehensive business cases, to support informed decision-making and ensure alignment with BDS Fabrication Quality strategic objectives and support business partner’s needs.
Keep stakeholders informed by effectively communicating business vision, strategies, and program or project status. Actively conduct and participate in leadership meetings, deliver impactful presentations, and listen attentively to employee concerns and suggestions to foster engagement and alignment.
Build and nurture an organizational culture that values open, honest communication and a strong commitment to first‑time quality.
Act as the primary escalation point for team issues or challenges, demonstrating the ability to triage and de‑escalate conflicts efficiently with all impacted parties.
Foster a culture of continuous improvement by deploying enterprise best practices and driving employee engagement initiatives aimed at improving cost efficiency, quality, delivery, employee job satisfaction, and customer satisfaction.
Collaborate across organizational and functional boundaries with management partners to execute programs, drive improvements and corrective actions, identify and mitigate risks, and proactively enhance first‑time quality.
Ensure effective communication across teams and leadership levels regarding strategies, project execution, risks, and mitigation plans.
Lead and support continuous improvement efforts that encourage innovative solutions to advance Non‑Destructive Testing (NDT) execution and address constraints with effective solution paths.
Provide education, coaching, and support to ensure compliance with Quality Management System (QMS) requirements and standards.
Interface and partner with cross‑functional stakeholders to support and promote the development and health of NDT skill improvement initiatives.
Hold responsibility and accountability for NDT quality program management and leadership, including resourcing, staffing, program quality integration related to NDT requirements, and overall quality oversight.
Collaborate with Operations, Quality, Engineering, regulatory agencies, and suppliers/partners to resolve issues impacting component build, testing, and delivery. Develop and maintain strategic partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers, and direct reports to ensure alignment and success.
Basic Qualifications
More than 3 years of experience in NDI (non‑destructive inspection) or NDT (non‑destructive test).
More than 3 years of experience developing and maintaining relationships and partnerships with stakeholders (i.e. Customers, suppliers, peers and/or partners).
More than 3 years of experience managing/supervising in Quality, Engineering or Manufacturing supporting AS9100 Quality Management System (QMS) or industry/regulatory compliance.
More than 1 year of leadership experience with technical teams.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree.
Current or previous NDT Level II/III certification in one or more NDT methods (ASNT Preferred).
Experience with developing or evaluating cost/price proposals and business cases.
More than 5 years of experience with NDT (non‑destructive test) or NDI (non‑destructive inspection).
Familiarity with National Aerospace Standard, NAS410.
More than 1 year of quality auditing experience.
Experience in project leadership that led to innovations, performance improvement, or risk mitigations.
Knowledge of Quality and Lean processes and tools.

The specific programs and options available to any given employee may vary depending on eligibility factors such as geographic location, date of hire, and the applicability of collective bargaining agreements. Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations. Summary pay range: USD 132,600 – 179,400.
