We are seeking a high-level Accounting consultant to join our team for a contract engagement with a high-profile technology company in the Baltimore area.
Key Responsibilities
Lead day-to-day accounting operations, including GL, AP, AR, payroll, and month-end close
Own the monthly, quarterly, and year-end close process, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
Prepare and review GAAP-compliant financial statements
Strengthen internal controls, accounting policies, and procedures
Manage cash flow, working capital, and bank relationships
Partner with FP&A on budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis
Support audit, tax, and compliance efforts, including coordination with external auditors and advisors
Oversee revenue recognition and cost accounting in accordance with ASC 606 (as applicable)
Implement process improvements and help scale accounting infrastructure as the business grows
Provide mentorship and direction to the accounting team during the interim period
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (CPA strongly preferred)
8+ years of progressive accounting experience, including Controller-level responsibility
Prior experience in a technology or SaaS environment strongly preferred
Deep knowledge of US GAAP and financial reporting
Experience with ERP systems (NetSuite, Intacct, or similar)
Proven ability to step into ambiguous situations and drive results quickly
Strong communication skills with the ability to partner cross-functionally
