as a Pharmacy Customer Service Associate. Your role centers on delivering a delightful customer experience, providing efficient checkout service, and supporting pharmacy operations under the supervision of the pharmacist.
Base Pay Range $16.00/hr – $18.00/hr
Responsibilities
Model and deliver a distinctive, friendly customer experience at the pharmacy and retail pharmacy desk.
Register sales on the assigned cash register, provide courteous and efficient checkout service, and process voids, returns, rain checks, refunds, and exchanges.
Assist the pharmacist under direct supervision in the practice of pharmacy, input patient and drug information into the pharmacy system, fill prescriptions, verify medication accuracy, and report prescription errors.
Engage with customers and patients by greeting and offering assistance, resolving issues, and ensuring a positive experience.
Recommend items for sale and manage the rollout of promotional or seasonal merchandise.
Process and correct third‑party prescription claims and perform clerical duties as assigned.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of counters, shelves, and the overall store environment.
Handle telephone inquiries that do not require pharmacist attention, including calls to physicians.
Support inventory management activities, ordering and receiving pharmaceutical items, and maintaining accurate records.
Adhere to state and local laws for regulated products and Walgreens procedures for pharmacy code of conduct and Good Faith Dispensing.
Assist with photo and picture‑care services, web‑pickup orders, and interior/exterior maintenance tasks.
Complete special assignments and additional duties as requested by management.
Training & Personal Development
Earn and maintain PTCB certification through the prescribed training program.
Attend required training and complete Performance & Professional Learning Modules (PPLs) and continuing education credits.
Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of healthcare, pharmacy developments, and best practices.
Basic Qualifications
Fluency in reading, writing, and speaking English (except Puerto Rico).
Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.
Preferred Qualifications
Minimum six months experience in a retail environment.
Prior experience with Walgreens.
Strong math skills for accurate prescription filling.
Computer proficiency.
Knowledge of store inventory control.
PTCB certification.
