Spectrum Healthcare Resources is seeking an Advanced Medical Support Assistant to support patient care coordination within the VA system, ensuring timely access to quality healthcare.
Job Description This role offers the opportunity to support patient care coordination, collaborate with internal and community providers, maintain accurate patient data, and provide excellent customer service to patients and VA staff.
Qualifications
U.S. residency required.
High School diploma or GED.
Strong oral and written English skills; basic medical terminology preferred.
Proficient in Microsoft Office (especially Excel).
Ability to type at least 50 WPM and work with electronic medical records.
Strong organizational skills; can work independently and prioritize tasks.
Ability to resolve customer concerns accurately and promptly.
No health restrictions that interfere with job duties.
Job Duties
Coordinate patient care and scheduling with internal and community providers.
Ensure timely and accurate patient communication and appointment scheduling.
Validate and update patient demographic information.
Process medical records and integrate data into VA systems (CPRS, VistA).
Manage community care consults using VA systems (HSRM, PPMS).
Answer and respond to phone inquiries professionally and promptly.
Use Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams) daily.
Provide excellent customer service to patients, families, and VA staff.
Perform other administrative tasks as assigned.
