Key Responsibilities
Source, evaluate, and select suppliers based on quality, cost, and delivery performance.
Negotiate pricing, terms, and delivery schedules with suppliers to achieve optimal value.
Create, issue, and manage purchase orders from requisition through delivery and invoice resolution.
Monitor inventory levels and collaborate with production to ensure timely material availability while minimizing excess stock.
Develop and maintain strong, collaborative relationships with key suppliers.
Identify and implement cost reduction opportunities and supply chain efficiencies.
Proactively manage supplier performance, including on‑time delivery and quality metrics.
Recommended Qualifications
Proven experience in purchasing/procurement within a manufacturing environment.
Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) for procurement functions.
Strong negotiation, supplier relationship management, and contract management skills.
Ability to interpret technical specifications, blueprints, or engineering drawings.
Demonstrated understanding of supply chain principles, inventory management, and cost reduction strategies.
Bonus Qualifications
Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems such as SAP, Oracle, or Epicor.
Familiarity with Lean manufacturing principles or Six Sigma methodologies.
Demonstrated success in cost reduction projects or value engineering initiatives.
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings or technical specifications.
