VISTA Community Partners and Development Coordinator
The VISTA Community Partners and Development Coordinator will build capacity for Community of Hearts by designing, developing, and implementing a comprehensive community partnerships database system. This database will serve as the foundation for tracking relationships, organizing funding leads, and supporting volunteers as they cultivate in‑kind sponsorships and financial support. It will also guide outreach across 20 cities and townships within Kent County, helping the organization strengthen connections with nonprofits, businesses, schools, civic groups, and corporate partners. The VISTA member will work to expand partnership communications, seek sponsorship opportunities, and identify new funding pathways that support organizational growth. By building strong community networks and documenting partnership engagement, the VISTA will help Community of Hearts broaden its financial base, increase visibility, and create long‑term sustainability. These efforts will support the goal of expanding the organization’s budget to eventually fund an executive director position, increasing the impact and quality of services provided to marginalized populations. The member will attend events, participate in networking activities, and maintain ongoing communication with community partners to develop a complete and functional database system. This project is capacity‑building and will leave permanent infrastructure to support future staff and volunteers.
Member Duties The VISTA Community Partners and Development Coordinator will build capacity by designing and launching a community partnerships database that tracks organizations, sponsors, in‑kind donors, and funding leads across Kent County. The member will research and identify potential partners, attend community events, network with agencies and businesses, and build relationships that support long‑term collaboration. The VISTA will create outreach materials, gather partnership data, and work with volunteers to develop systems for sponsorship requests and follow‑up communication. This work will expand Community of Hearts’ financial base, support in‑kind resource growth, increase organizational visibility, and help build a foundation that prepares the nonprofit to secure future funding and leadership staffing.
