This position will perform studies on Alzheimer's disease, neuropsychiatric disorders, and the microbiome using transgenic mouse models in the Seo laboratory. Duties include feeding special diets, administering pharmacological drugs to mice, weighting mice, performing animal behavior tests, and collecting specimens for histology and molecular/biochemical analysis. The candidate will conduct molecular biology/biochemical experiments, minor surgical interventions, microscopic procedures, and statistical/computational analyses. Sample processing by microtome/cryostat sectioning, maintaining mouse breeding colonies, observing animals daily for clinical or behavioral signs of illness, and providing treatments for animal care will also be performed. The role involves data collection, documentation, compliance with safety procedures, and preparation of results for publication in scientific journals. The assistant will participate in developing and evaluating new research techniques and perform any other assigned duties. Responsibilities
Plan experiments independently and develop research protocols while ensuring adherence to scientific research principles and federal guidelines. Perform studies on Alzheimer's disease, neuropsychiatric disorders, and the microbiome using transgenic mouse models. Feed special diets, administer pharmacological drugs, and weigh mice; perform animal behavior tests. Observe animals daily for clinical or behavioral signs of illness and provide treatments as directed by veterinary staff. Maintain mouse breeding colonies, including genotyping, sacrificing animals, and collecting tissues. Perform molecular biology/biochemical experiments, minor surgical procedures, microscopic work, and statistical/computational analyses. Execute sample processing by microtome/cryostat sectioning. Collect and document research data in accordance with guidelines and protocols; publish results in scientific journals. Assure compliance with safety procedures and maintain inventory and documentation of laboratory specimens. Develop and evaluate new research techniques and procedures. Perform all other job‑related duties as assigned. Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in chemistry, biology, biochemistry, cell biology, social sciences, natural sciences, life, health care, or materials science directly related to the research area, and experience in a research or clinical setting. OR Associate's degree from an accredited college or university in the same fields and a minimum of three years of experience in a research or clinical area. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Proficient in Microsoft Office and other computer software/databases or willingness to learn. Skills
Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills. Detail‑oriented with strong organizational and prioritization skills. Abilities

Shift: Days; Monday - Friday. Pay Band: B5. Salary commensurate with qualifications within the established range. Recruitment Period: Until Filled. Benefits
