Job Summary The Division of Infectious Diseases (ID) at the University of Colorado School of Medicine is seeking Advanced Practice Providers to provide clinical care on the Infectious Disease Consult Service and Infectious Diseases Group Practice Clinic (IDGP) setting. This position focuses on orthopedic infectious disease service. Clinicians at all ranks (Instructor, Sr. Instructor, Assistant, Associate, Professor) are encouraged to apply. The role will primarily involve inpatient care in the infectious disease consult service, with possible outpatient follow‑up visits. The IDGP clinic offers care for people with HIV, general infectious diseases, and a large number of post‑hospital discharge patients for antimicrobial management, including outpatient parenteral antibiotic therapy (OPAT). As a member of the Infectious Disease Division, the applicant will also have opportunities to participate in teaching, research, and quality improvement efforts related to orthopedics ID.

Nurse practitioner or Physician Assistant training
Graduate degree (master's and/or doctorate) from an accredited program
ANNCC, AANPCB, or NCCPA board certification
Eligibility or licensure in Colorado
Certified to see adults
Required years of post‑training inpatient experience (vary by rank, see below)
Rank‑specific requirements
Instructor: at least 1 year of post‑training inpatient experience (hospitalist fellowship acceptable)
Senior Instructor: 2–3 years of post‑training inpatient experience
Assistant Professor: 3–5 years of post‑training inpatient experience
Associate Professor: 5 years of post‑training inpatient experience
Professor: 7 years of post‑training inpatient experience
A master's degree and equivalent experience may substitute for a Doctor of Nursing degree.
Preferred Qualifications
Infectious Diseases or Orthopedics experience
General Internal Medicine knowledge base
Excellent bedside manners and physical exam skills
Excellent communication skills to interact with other medical providers and disciplines
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Infection control clinical practice skills

Associate Professor (12–15 years): $140,000 to $149,000
Professor (16+ years): $150,000 to $163,000
Final compensation will be determined based on experience and primary site of practice. This position is not eligible for overtime compensation unless it is non‑exempt.
Additional compensation includes generous leave, health plans, and retirement contributions.
