Join the Gwinnett County Police Department’s Local February Hiring Event to begin the process of becoming a sworn officer. Attendance at the event is an essential part of the first phase of the two‑phase hiring process. Conditional offers may be made during this event.
Event Details
Friday, February 6, 2026 – 3:00 pm to 8:00 pm
Saturday, February 7, 2026 – 8:00 am to 3:00 pm
Location: Gwinnett County Police Training Center, 854 Winder Highway, Lawrenceville, GA 30045
Appointment highly recommended. Please submit an application prior to attending; appointments will be scheduled by an investigator.
Session activities include an obstacle course, orientation, a more detailed application review, and an oral interview. The entire process typically takes 2–3 hours, though it may take longer.
Part of the event will be conducted outdoors; bring water and a snack.
Attendance on both days is not required.
Salary & Incentives
Base Salary : $55,923
Possible incentives:
$57,600 – includes a 3% pay incentive for an Associate’s degree.
$59,278 – includes a 6% pay incentive for a Bachelor’s degree.
Hiring incentive for new hires: $5,500.
5% night shift differential.
Position grade: PL213.
Minimum Qualifications
High School Diploma or G.E.D.
Must be a U.S. Citizen to be eligible for Georgia P.O.S.T. certification.
Valid driver’s license from state of residency.
Must be 21 years of age at the time of application.
Must successfully complete a comprehensive background investigation, including criminal, controlled‑substance, driving, work‑history, and physical agility testing.
