Offer Description A three-year position as a research support technician in the Balearic Islands (TEC 2025).

Recommended profile:

Proven experience in managing archaeological digs

Knowledge of Balearic pre-history

Experience documenting and recording archaeological fieldwork

Experience in data collection and management

Basic experience handling equipment (total station, GPS, etc.)

Experience managing or processing archaeological samples, especially sediments and bioarchaeological material

Having taken part in archaeology teaching activities

Experience managing and handling material usually found in pre-history and archaeology labs (inventories, coding, cleaning material, basic storage and conservation protocols, etc.)

Recommended personal skills: teamwork, proactiveness, problem‑solving and flexibility.

Eligibility Criteria

Curricular merits in the field (max. 40 points).

Qualifications in the specialist area (max. 20 points), other (max. 5 points).

Video curriculum and, if applicable, personal interview (max. 20 points).

Experience in the field (max. 15 points). E.g.: > 3 years (10 points),

Other merits (max. +5 points). E.g.: recommendation letters.

Eligibility threshold: 60 points.

Candidates who hold the qualification corresponding to the required category in the job offer with a non‑EU degree, if selected, must present a certificate of equivalence of their non‑EU qualification to a European qualification, or proof of having applied for this equivalence, in order to proceed with their hiring. Selection Process In accordance with article 8 of the REGULATORY AGREEMENT 145140 of 15th June 2022 that approves the regulation governing the recruitment of research staff under chapter 6 allocation of the university budget, as well as technical or operational research staff.

Selection committee

The relevant Pro-Vice-Chancellor for Research (or person s/he delegates), as chair.

The management team for the relevant department.

The members of the Research Area Assessment Committee (CARAI).

Three experts in the field pertaining to recruitment, where appropriate, appointed by the chair of the committee, having heard from the management team of the department.

The head of the Management Office for the Research Promotion and Human Resources Programme (or person s/he delegates), acting as secretary, who may speak but not vote.
