Blythefield Country Club is a premier, member-owned private club located in Belmont, Michigan, just minutes from Grand Rapids. With a proud championship tradition and commitment to excellence, Blythefield offers an outstanding environment for golf professionals looking to grow their careers.
The club features a classic 18-hole championship golf course, highlighted by a $4 million renovation completed in 2020, and is complemented by a $16 million, state-of-the-art clubhouse renovation in 2023.
Blythefield supports a full membership of 325 golf members with a waitlist and sees exceptional play, recording 26,500 rounds in 2025. The club is also the proud host of the Meijer LPGA Classic for Simply GIVE.
With a historic pedigree as the only club outside of Chicago to host all Western Golf Association championships (Western Open, Western Am, Western Junior), Blythefield offers assistant professionals a rare opportunity to work at a nationally recognized club while gaining experience in elite member service, high-volume play, and professional tournament golf.
Experience Required
At least two years of experience at a private club, upscale public facility, or golf shop environment.
Experience working with Northstar POS and Tee Sheet
Experience working with Golf Genius TM Club Premium
Experience working with Golf Genius Golf Shop
Background in member/guest services, with an emphasis on hospitality and professionalism
PGA Associate or Class A PGA Professional preferred (or actively pursuing PGA membership)
Strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills
Team player who thrives in a collaborative and supportive work environment.
Essential Responsibilities
Deliver exceptional member and guest service, ensuring a welcoming, professional, and personalized golf experience at all times
Assist in the daily golf operations, including opening and closing procedures, tee sheet management, and pace-of-play oversight
Support the Head Golf Professional in planning and executing tournaments, leagues, outings, and club championships
Assist in overseeing golf shop operations, including merchandising, inventory control, POS systems, and maintaining a first-class retail environment
Provide golf instruction through individual lessons, clinics, junior programs, and player development initiatives (as qualified)
Enforce the Rules of Golf, club policies, and standards of etiquette in a courteous and professional manner
Coordinate with the grounds, food & beverage, and clubhouse teams to ensure seamless event execution and daily operations
Assist with member communication, including event promotion, tee time policies, and golf-related announcements
Help train, schedule, and supervise outside services staff, starters, rangers, and bag room personnel
Contribute to a positive team culture, leading by example in professionalism, appearance, and service standards
Maintain accurate records related to tournaments, handicap management, and daily operations
Support major events and championships, including professional tournaments, as applicable
