Job Description KIK Consumer Products is one of North America’s largest independent manufacturers of consumer products. Your role will be a member of our maintenance team, supporting the mechanical, electrical, and PLC needs at the manufacturing plant.
What You’ll Be Doing
Inspect, test, troubleshoot, repair, install, and maintain electrical equipment including motors, starters, breakers, transformers, relays, fuses, AC/DC drives, cables, PLCs, control panels, lighting panels, UPS, alarms, and related hazardous materials.
Inspect, test, troubleshoot, repair, install, calibrate, and maintain instrumentation equipment such as transmitters, valves, IPs, positioners, actuators, dampers, flow meters, and level sensors.
Complete and prioritize multiple work orders for controls systems, motors, mechanical equipment, PLC programming, etc.
Troubleshoot technical issues related to maintenance and emergency situations, determining proper course of action and safely implementing solutions.
Discuss and explain technical issues in a business environment and act professionally during equipment breakdowns.
Utilize MS Windows, Industrial Software, and SAP on a daily basis.
Assist maintenance technicians on shift and perform mechanical repairs when appropriate.
Partner cross‑functionally with Engineering, Project Management, and Maintenance Technicians to accomplish engineering projects.
What You’ll Bring
At least 3 years of manufacturing/industrial experience with troubleshooting and programming PLCs.
Associate’s degree in an electronic field or electrical diploma/certificate with at least 3 years of experience, or 5+ years of proven experience in a related field.
Proficiency with SAP.
Ability to adapt to changing business priorities and assignments.
Experience training and coaching others on technical topics.
Proficiency with hand tools and electrical testing equipment (multimeter, megohmmeter, phase finder, etc.).
Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills for electrical control systems.
Knowledge of NFPA 70, 70E, E‑Stops, and safety circuits.
Experience with Rockwell software packages (RS Logix 5/500/5000) and automated control systems.
Ability to read electrical drawings/schematics and understand ladder/procedural logic.
Capability to configure IP and serial communication ports for PLC & HMI hardware.
Experience retrieving machine programming and documenting changes.
Physical ability to lift up to 60 lbs. and perform repetitive tasks for extended periods.
Accurate and timely completion of daily paperwork.
