JCC Greater Boston, a nonprofit organization dedicated to creating a vibrant and inclusive community, seeks an enthusiastic and passionate Pre‑K Assistant Teacher to join our team. As a Pre‑K Assistant Teacher at JCC Greater Boston, you will contribute to the mission of nurturing meaningful and lasting relationships while providing a high‑quality early childhood education rooted in Jewish values. You will have the opportunity to contribute to the children in your care's social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development. Working as part of a dynamic team, you will do innovative teaching in a family‑friendly environment with excellent indoor and outdoor spaces.

Eligible for $1,000 sign‑on bonus

This posting is for a full‑time, salaried Pre‑K Assistant Teacher. There are also opportunities in the Toddler classrooms. The starting salary for this position is $43,000‑$44,625. The salary offered will ultimately be determined by the scope of the position, the candidate’s relevant experience, and internal equity. JCC Greater Boston also has openings for part‑time Pre‑K Assistant Teachers with multiple shift options.

Create a safe and nurturing environment where children can play, learn, and take risks

Assist with the smooth running of the classroom environment

In partnership with Early Learning Center Directors and peers, co‑create a collaborative, dynamic, positive, and innovative classroom culture

Work in partnership with JCC leadership and other departments to support JCC Greater Boston organizational goals and model JCC values

Partner and communicate with families to ensure the best care and education for the children

Complete observation and document assessments regarding children’s progress

Adhere to all EEC regulations as well as NAEYC guidelines

Qualifications

A love of children and a strong desire to make a difference every day

Strong organizational skills, including teamwork, relationship‑building skills, the ability to multitask, the ability to manage situations effectively and diplomatically

Oral and written communication skills

Ability and commitment to build strong relationships with families, co‑workers, ELC leadership, and JCCGB colleagues

Commitment to create and foster a dynamic environment where play and learning are a top priority

Computer literate

Organization Information JCC Greater Boston is a nonprofit organization with roots in earlier Settlement Houses and Young Men’s Hebrew Associations; JCC Greater Boston today offers a wide range of services and program activities throughout the Greater Boston region (~50,000 individuals annually in 98 communities). The organization provides a variety of programs and services to children and adults in the Greater Boston Jewish community including preschools, day camps, a regional model of Jewish family engagement, a fully equipped fitness and aquatic center, arts and culture classes, performances, lectures, and Jewish holiday celebrations.
