Description:
The Department of Agricultural Sciences and the South Carolina Water Resources Center at Clemson University invite qualified candidates to apply for a Postdoctoral Research position. The successful candidate will develop water demand projections and statistical and numerical models to study water management challenges in different watersheds in South Carolina. Results will be incorporated in the next state water plan.
Responsibilities
Collect and analyze spatial and temporal data.
Develop water demand projections.
Prepare high‑quality maps, charts, and detailed reports.
Present findings at stakeholders’ meetings and incorporate feedback.
Explore econometric analysis of water demand.
Assist with data dashboard development.
Prepare journal articles.
Collaborate with graduate students and contribute to grant proposals.
Qualifications
PhD with a strong focus on hydrology, water‑resources planning and management, agricultural economics, statistics, or programming.
Experience with GIS, statistical and numerical modeling, and R (or willingness to learn).
Strong presentation and writing skills demonstrated by journal publications.
Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel within the state for stakeholder meetings. Overnight stays may be required.
Availability for a 1½‑year position (initial one year, renewable contingent on funding and performance).
