Career Development Specialist – P05608 – Homestead Correctional Institution
Tallahassee State College is looking for a full‑time, grant‑funded Career Development Specialist to provide services related to Compass 180 and supplemental in‑cell assignments through cell‑front instruction for eligible participants.
What You’ll Do
Facilitate employability and life skills instruction, administer and interpret assessments, and provide training for the Compass 180 curriculum and Thinking for a Change.
Provide services related to Compass 180 and supplemental in‑cell assignments through cell‑front instruction for eligible participants who are in restrictive housing as directed by the Lead Educator.
Facilitate services in a small‑group setting for participants who are not in restrictive housing and provide pre‑release connections with community providers and employers through face‑to‑face and technology‑based interactions, including pre‑release job search, recruitment, and placement activities.
Report monthly attendance, program enrollments, and completions on the Department of Corrections approved format; maintain and provide documentation of services delivered.
Who We’re Looking For
Associate’s Degree from an accredited college or university or a high school diploma; two (2) years of professional experience in workforce development, social services, or corrections.
Proficient in Microsoft Office and data entry.
Bonus Points If You Have
Associate’s Degree and one year of experience in social services or corrections.
