Inventory Specialist Walgreens is looking for an Inventory Specialist to support store and pharmacy operations, ensuring accurate inventory, pricing, and customer experience.

Base Pay Range $17.00/hr - $20.00/hr

Responsibilities

Execute, monitor, and train inventory best practices and standard operating procedures for the entire store, including front end and pharmacy.

Review and coordinate the use of reports and system applications to ensure accurate front‑end and pharmacy on‑hand balances and pricing.

Maintain front‑end and pharmacy asset protection techniques, file claims for overages, shortages, order errors, and damaged goods, including prescription drugs.

Open and close the store in the absence of management, performing system start‑ups, cash handling, and cashier responsibilities, and ensuring the floor and stock rooms are ready for the business day.

Engage customers by greeting them, offering assistance with products and services, and resolving customer issues when serving as the leader on duty.

Execute and coach team members on warehouse and vendor inventory management processes, including receiving orders, scanning deliveries, and handling vendor returns.

Verify all pharmacy shipments, complete or verify postings of pharmacy warehouse orders, and accurately report shortages or damaged product.

Execute the On‑Shelf Availability (OSA) end‑to‑end process for planogrammed departments, including disposals, call‑ins, vendor and DSD returns.

Perform routine pricing activities: price changes, markdowns, deletes, and ensure correct signage.

Support front‑end and pharmacy ordering, monitor manual orders, and manage consigned inventory and expense items.

Maintain accurate inventory counts and ensure on‑hand quantities for all departments, including pharmacy smart counts.

Assist in physical inventory preparation and support inventory day activities.

Attend company trainings and complete all required e‑learning modules, including safety training.

Serve as a liaison between management and non‑management team members, communicating assigned tasks and reporting disciplinary issues.

Qualifications

Six months of prior work experience with Walgreens (internal candidates) or one year of prior retail work experience (external candidates).

Fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English (except in Puerto Rico).

Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including evening and weekend hours.

“Achieving expectations” rating on last performance review and no written disciplinary actions in the previous 12 months (internal candidates only).

Demonstrated attention to detail and ability to multitask and manage execution.

Experience in identifying operational issues and recommending and implementing strategies to resolve problems.

Preferred: prior experience as a shift lead, pharmacy technician, designated hitter, or customer service associate.

Preferred: prior work experience with Walgreens, with an evaluation on file.
