Position Description Immediately hiring a Permanent Full Time Experienced Mid‑Level Diesel Technician to support our Truck Fleet at Ryder in Rainbow City, Alabama.

Hourly Pay: $23.85 per hour. Certification Bonus of $100 for each new ASE Certification up to $700. Quarterly Bonus: up to $500 every quarter.
Schedule: Tuesday through Saturday. Hours: First Shift Tuesday–Friday 8:30 am–5:00 pm, Saturday 7:00 am–3:30 pm.

Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent preferred
Vocational or Technical Certification, Post‑secondary degree or Technical Certifications preferred
Basic tools required
Demonstrated aptitude and applied experience in mechanical repair of automotive gas or diesel engines, including routine preventative maintenance, oil changes, brake and tire work
Two (2) years or more of classroom training and work experience
Valid Commercial Driver License (CDL) Class A preferred
Must be able to obtain a CDL within 6 months after hire
Pass a Ryder Drug Test, DOT physical, Ryder road test, background and motor‑vehicle check
Responsibilities
Perform vehicle maintenance and repair duties
Conduct standard vehicle maintenance and component inspections
Perform preventive maintenance
Diagnose standard mechanical and electronic problems, using diagnostic computer when applicable
Identify root cause of failures and perform repairs as required
Replace defective components as instructed
Assist with facility maintenance duties
Interact with customers/drivers to determine nature of complaints
Use shop management system and electronic documentation
Work in accordance with federal, provincial and corporate compliance guidelines (safety, DOT, MOT)
Perform other support duties as required, including service island support
