Position Overview
The Sr. Estimator will play a critical role in the preconstruction phase of projects, providing accurate cost estimates and analyses to ensure successful project execution. This position requires a deep understanding of construction processes and the ability to collaborate with various stakeholders to achieve project goals, particularly in the healthcare, K-12, education, commercial, and life sciences sectors.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare detailed cost estimates for construction projects from conceptual through to final design stages.
Conduct thorough analyses of drawings, specifications, and other documentation to prepare time, cost, materials, and labor estimates.
Collaborate with project managers, architects, and engineers to assess project scope and requirements.
Review and analyze bids from subcontractors and suppliers to ensure competitiveness and compliance with project specifications.
Attend pre-bid meetings and site visits to gain insights into project challenges and scope.
Prepare and maintain a database of historical costs for estimating purposes.
Assist in developing project budgets and financial forecasting.
Support the procurement process by evaluating subcontractor proposals and providing recommendations.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in estimating within the construction industry.
Strong knowledge of construction processes, materials, and labor costs.
Experience with preconstruction services in healthcare, K-12 education, commercial, and life sciences projects.
Proficiency in estimating software and tools.
Excellent analytical and mathematical skills.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with teams and stakeholders.
