Join Crane Aerospace & Electronics in Auburn, CA. 2nd shift 4:00pm-1:30am. $30-$41/hr plus up to $5k sign‑on bonus for relocation. Job Summary
The CNC Machinist produces machined parts by setting up and operating a computer numerical control (CNC) lathe, maintaining quality and safety standards, keeping records and maintaining equipment and supplies. Essential Functions
Understand work orders, blueprints, manufacturing orders, and machining parameters. Validate material used. Maintain specifications, troubleshoot, and replace worn tools. Listen to machining operation to detect sounds of dull tools or excessive vibration and compensate for problems. Measure dimensions of finished work pieces to ensure conformance to specifications using precision measuring instruments, templates, fixtures, and knowledge of GDT standards. Maintain continuity among shifts by documenting and communicating actions taken and any necessary further steps. Non-Essential Functions
Maintain conscientious work behaviors including work ethic, safety standards, quality, costs, and on‑time delivery (OTD). Minimum Qualifications
2+ years machining with CNC lathes (single or double spindle). Knowledge of inspection equipment (micrometers, calipers, height gauges), safety procedures, GDT, tool geometry, tooling coordination. Skilled at process improvement, strong verbal and written communication, attention to detail, and accurate record keeping. High school diploma or equivalent. US‑person eligibility for controlled data access per ITAR regulations. Preferred Qualifications
CNC‑mills knowledge. Understanding of CNC G‑code. Basic math, geometry, and trigonometry. Excellent teamwork skills. Working Conditions
Normal manufacturing environment; PPE required. Possible noise, cold, confined spaces, dust, fumes. Required standing (100%) and sitting (0%). Maximum lifting (30 lbs) and pushing (50 lbs). Top Benefits
