AEROCONTACT is recruiting a Mechanical Engineer III to support the operational maintenance of Safran Actuation Systems for the U.S. market. The role is based in Dallas, TX and is salaried at $85,000–$95,000 per year.

Mission Description Summary: The Mechanical Engineer plays a critical role in supporting the operational maintenance of Safran Actuation Systems. This position leads the design and development of test benches, jigs, and tools, while ensuring all actuator maintenance activities meet Safran standards and regulatory requirements. The engineer provides technical support to operations, customers, and cross‑functional teams; defines and validates disassembly/assembly processes; and manages technical, cost, schedule, and risk elements across multiple projects.

Responsibilities

Design and develop test benches, jigs, and tools for actuation systems.

Provide technical support to operations, customers, and cross‑functional teams.

Define and validate disassembly/assembly processes, managing technical, cost, schedule, and risk aspects across projects.

Analyze repair data and perform root‑cause investigations on repeat returns.

Manage line stoppages, support repair process improvements, and ensure compliance with updated documentation.

Contribute to test equipment development and coordinate action plans with Program Management.

Mentor junior engineers, guide interns, and support maintenance of team capability.

Ensure test equipment is properly maintained and identify risks in maintenance procedures.

Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams on new capability development.

Qualifications

Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field from an accredited institution.

Minimum 5 years of relevant work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

In‑depth knowledge of mechanical engineering disciplines and aerospace/aircraft maintenance environments.

Knowledge of GD&T, engineering drawing standards, and production/repair processes in the aeronautic environment.

Proficiency with modeling and simulation software for analyzing mechanical behavior.

Experience with first‑article inspection and quality management.

Ability to analyze incidents and propose technical solutions.

Strong project and task prioritization skills to ensure timely completion.

Leadership, communication, integrity, judgment, and adaptability.

Root cause corrective action, change control management, analytical thinking, planning, and organization.
