The Opportunity We’re seeking a

Control Systems Technician

to support the installation, startup, commissioning, and maintenance of industrial control systems at customer sites. This is a hands‑on, field‑based role ideal for early‑career technicians looking to grow their skills in automation, controls, and system integration while working alongside experienced engineers and project teams.

What You’ll Do

Support installation, startup, and commissioning of control systems

Perform instrument wiring, loop checks, calibrations, and panel work

Troubleshoot and repair PLC, HMI, and control system components

Assist with Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) and onsite testing

Read and interpret P&IDs, wiring diagrams, and technical drawings

Follow Thermo’s Quality Management System (QMS) and safety standards

Accurately document work performed and communicate issues proactively

Provide professional, customer‑focused support at client sites

Education and Experience

Associate degree in Engineering Technology or related field (or equivalent experience)

0–3 years of industry or hands‑on technical experience

Technical Skills

Basic PLC and HMI exposure or strong interest in learning

Hands‑on electrical and mechanical aptitude

Comfortable using tools such as multimeters and diagnostic equipment

Soft Skills

Strong communication and willingness to learn

Team‑oriented, dependable, and safety‑focused

Requirements

Valid driver’s license and authorization to work in the U.S.

Fit for duty at all times

Travel required:

This role will start its first project in New Albany, OH and then relocate to Beaver Dam, WI.

On Call:

On call rotation participation may be required based on location and client needs.

Work Authorization and Other Requirements

Proof of eligibility to work in the country where the position is located is required.

Maintain a valid driver’s license.
