Bookkeeper – Heard, McElroy & Vestal, LLC CPA
We are seeking a full‑charge bookkeeper to provide accounting services to our clients. Responsibilities
Train and assist Clerks and Staff Accountants with job duties and responsibilities. Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual compiled financial statements using Accounting CS, QuickBooks and Excel. Communicate directly with clients regarding accounting services matters. Process client payrolls and related payroll taxes, initiate direct deposits, mail payroll checks or stubs as needed, and prepare required payroll tax returns and forms. Prepare required client sales tax returns and remit payments as needed. Process and maintain accounts payable and accounts receivable ledgers. Prepare monthly bank and credit card account reconciliations. Prepare year‑end reporting forms, including W‑2s and 1099s. Travel to client offices to train client bookkeepers and implement controls and record‑keeping systems as required. Work seasonal overtime as required. Competencies
Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong workload management and deadline‑driven. Ability to handle competing demands and frequent change. Sound and accurate judgment. Highly organized, detail‑oriented and thorough. Works independently and collaboratively with professionals at all levels. Manages client accounts independently with minimal supervision. Requirements
Education and Experience : Associate’s degree in business (preferred) or minimum five years of full‑charge bookkeeping experience, including payroll. Computer Skills : Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Accounting CS and QuickBooks; working knowledge of office equipment and computer peripherals. Firm Culture/Client Service : Demonstrates the firm’s culture by building personal client relationships and meeting specific needs.
