ERMCO is seeking an Accountant who is eager to learn, detail‑oriented, and motivated to grow within a manufacturing environment. This role provides hands‑on exposure to general ledger accounting, inventory, cost accounting, and the month‑end close process, while working closely with experienced accountants and plant partners who are invested in your development. You will gain practical experience, develop confidence in core accounting processes, and see how your work supports both financial reporting and day‑to‑day operations.
Responsibilities
Assist with month‑end close activities, including preparation of journal entries, accruals, and supporting schedules
Help reconcile general ledger accounts and investigate variances with guidance from senior team members
Support manufacturing cost and inventory variance analysis and reporting
Assist with maintaining standard cost data and supporting annual cost roll processes
Participate in physical inventory counts and help reconcile inventory balances
Support fixed asset accounting activities, including tracking additions and depreciation schedules
Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and internal reporting tasks as assigned
Collaborate with procurement, operations, and finance teams to ensure accurate financial data
Support internal and external audits by preparing documentation and responding to requests
Learn and follow internal controls, accounting policies, and GAAP requirements
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
Zero to two years of accounting experience, including internships or co‑op experience
Foundational understanding of accounting principles and GAAP
Intermediate Excel skills, i.e. pivot tables, v‑lookups, macros, and comfort learning ERP or accounting systems
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Willingness to ask questions, learn new processes, and take feedback
Ability to manage deadlines and work effectively in a team environment
Nice to Have
Internship or entry‑level experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment
Exposure to inventory, cost accounting, or general ledger accounting
Experience with ERP systems such as Infor or similar platforms
Interest in pursuing CPA licensure in the future
