Manager – Specialized Billing Operations Location
Kirkwood, NY (Office on-site) Salary
$125,766 – $157,208 (based on experience) Responsibilities
Direct all Specialized Billing operations for NY (NYSEG and RG&E), ensuring timely and accurate billing and revenue generation. Manage specialized billing processes, systems, and vendor relationships. Oversee CDG Billing back-office activities, including external developer interactions, regulatory orders, tariffs, solar projects, Joint Utilities billing, and credit groups, while preventing negative revenue adjustments. Co‑ordinate MV90/Interval data activities such as meter data collection for SAP processing, NY ISO data submittals, and settlement efforts. Manage and lead a team of employees in Binghamton. Support projects such as Automated Meter Infrastructure (AMI), CRMB, Community Distributed Generation (CDG), and Robotics Process Automation (RPA). Ensure compliance with NY Billing regulations, SOX controls, and CEO certifications. Collaborate with NYSEG/RGE departments (Business Relations, Distributed Generation, Meter Services, Supplier Services, Regulatory, Appeals, Contact Centers, etc.) to ensure accurate billing and customer communication. Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business, Finance, Economics, Information Technology, or a related field. Seven (7) years of relevant experience in utility credit & collections, finances, or billing operations (or 15+ years of advanced experience). Experience with SAP IS‑U/CCS utility business processes (Billing, Device Management, Front Office, Electronic Bill Presentment and Bill Print, Customer Information Analytics). Skills / Abilities
Strong change‑management skills and ability to lead effectively across diverse work environments. Leadership and analytical thinking, working with regulatory agencies, external stakeholders, and internal process owners. Knowledge of customer billing and accounting processes. Ability to balance budgets, staffing needs, and performance goals. Excellent analytical, interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills. Proficiency in SAP, Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. Strong problem‑solving, prioritization, and project‑management skills. Preferred Qualifications
