Overview
The
Child Watch Associate , working under the direction of the Youth Development Director, is responsible for conducting a safe, quality and age-appropriate small or large group experience for children and families in the Prime-Time program, consistent with the
YMCA of Southern Maine
at Greater Portland's core values and the needs of participants and the community. We are hiring for the following shifts: Tuesday's, Wednesday's, and Thursday's from 4:00PM-7:00PM Saturday 8:30AM-11:30AM Responsibilities

Provides effective supervision and supports safety and programming by leading and activelyparticipatingin activities with campers. Leadership– Is a collaborative, engaged, and positive role model for children throughgood workhabits, positive attitude, and respect for the YMCA’s values and rules, including communicating in an effective andtimelymanner and making sound decisions. Relationship Building– Develop positive, authentic relationships within the Y that lead to greater awareness of the Y’s mission and impact, growth in number of people served, as well as revenue. Listens and expresses self effectively and with an understanding of the needs of a particular audience. Personal Growth– Maintains a high degree of emotional maturity and interpersonal skills and is committed to personal growth and skill acquisition. Operations & Safety– Ensures the health and safety of each child and follows all YMCA protocols and rules. Keeps group and program areas safe,cleanand orderly. Ensures all equipment is in working order. Provides rapid andtimelyresponse to all accidents, situations,incidentsand emergencies appropriately,calmlyand professionally using proper techniques and completes incident reports as needed. Reports all concerns to the Director. Data Tracking & Documentation–Maintainsaccurateand consistent data tracking and documentation, asrequired. Qualifications
16 years of age or older. Experienced working withyouth,preferred. Detail oriented; extremely reliable, dependable, and punctual. CPR/AED/Basic First Aidcertified(YMCA will train). A criminal background check isrequiredprior tohire. This will be paid for by the YMCA of Southern Maine. The ideal candidate must be able to complete allphysicalrequirements of the job with or without reasonable accommodation. Benefits
