As a Business Ops Analyst, you will analyze and manage project performance data to ensure contracts are within budget and on schedule. You will work closely with program managers and cross‑functional teams to drive execution and optimal performance. This role reports under the Planning Department and serves as the business partner to the Ship Repair Program Management team, supporting active contracts. Responsibilities include preparing reports that compare budgets with actual expenses; monitoring and controlling costs and schedules; performing analyses and preparing reports to ensure contracts remain within negotiated parameters; preparing budgets and schedules; assisting in financial analyses such as variance analysis; preparing program plans to capture statements of work; conducting schedule risk assessments to identify and mitigate cost and scheduling risks; and recommending, designing, or developing revisions to the EVMS system.
Primary Duties And Responsibilities
Collaborate closely with program managers, control account manager, and cross‑functional partners.
Utilize Earned Value Management System (EVMS) principles to proactively support contracts in execution.
Manage and present analytical data to internal and external customers, including variance analysis and forecasts.
Support weekly, monthly, and quarterly reporting requirements both internally and externally as required.
Carry out miscellaneous EVM analysis as required and continually assess and improve EVMS reporting processes.
Required Education, Experience, & Skills
Bachelor’s degree in business administration, accounting, finance, or a related field with 4 years of work experience or equivalent.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools.
Experience and strong understanding of Earned Value Management System (EVMS) principles.
Experience as a program control analyst, program finance, or related finance discipline, particularly managing large government acquisition contracts.
Aptitude in project forecasting and analysis, particularly in a US Defense environment.
Demonstrated problem‑solving and in‑depth analytical skills.
Ability to communicate and present EVMS data to other functions accurately, concisely, and understandably.
Strong interpersonal skills to influence diverse work teams.
Ability to prioritize and self‑manage a multi‑tasked workload in a fast‑paced environment.
Ability to make decisions with sound judgment while complying with policies and procedures.
Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
Experience in program control or finance within the Naval/defense industry.
Experience with Excel macros, VBA, and queries.
Experience with Deltek, Cost Point, SAP, or other equivalent accounting software.
Experience with Cobra, MPM, or other equivalent software a plus.
Pay Information Full‑time Salary Range: $60,076 – $102,130
Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to, business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
