Plan, direct, manage and oversee fleet maintenance program activities and operations including evaluating, monitoring and updating warranties on Transit fleet and equipment, and administering the driving budget; coordinate assigned activities with other divisions, departments and outside agencies and provide highly responsible and complex administrative support to the Transit Associate Director. This is a safety sensitive position subject to random drug/alcohol testing. Education and experience directly related to the minimum requirements below may be interchangeable on a year for year basis. Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university in business administration; and Seven (7) years managerial experience overseeing the maintenance and repair of diesel and gasoline vehicles and equipment; and To include four (4) years supervisory experience. Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) engine repair and maintenance oversite experience preferred. Responsibilities

Plan, organize, direct and coordinate the work of lower level staff Select, supervise, train and evaluate staff Analyze and assess programs, policies and operational needs and make appropriate adjustments Identify and respond to sensitive community and organizational issues, concerns and needs Develop and administer program goals, objectives and procedures Prepare administrative and financial reports Prepare and administer large and complex budgets Analyze problems, identify alternative solutions, project consequences of proposed actions and implement recommendations in support of goals Research, analyze and evaluate new service delivery methods and techniques Interpret and apply Federal, State and local policies, laws and regulations Communicate clearly and concisely Establish and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of work Perform the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodation Qualifications

Operations, services and activities of a comprehensive transit fleet maintenance program Principles and practices of program development and administration Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) engine repair and maintenance Appropriate transit equipment, supplies and tools Principles and practices of procurement and inventory management Principles of business letter writing and basic report preparation Principles and procedures of record keeping Theories and principles of the construction, operation and maintenance of gasoline and diesel vehicles Principles and practices of municipal budget preparation and administration Principles of supervision, training and performance evaluation Pertinent Federal, State, and local laws, codes and regulations Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university in business administration; and Seven (7) years managerial experience overseeing the maintenance and repair of diesel and gasoline vehicles and equipment; and To include four (4) years supervisory experience. Additional Requirements

Possession of a valid New Mexico Driver's License, or the ability to obtain by date of hire. Possession of aCity Operator's Permit (COP) within 6 months from date of hire.
