The City of Henderson announces an examination to create an eligibility list and to fill one (1) vacancy for the classification of Manager of Plans Examining Services in the Department of Building/Fire Safety and Development Services Center. The eligibility list may be utilized to fill vacancies for this classification for up to one (1) year.
Under general direction manages, plans, coordinates and administers permits and the activities of the Plans Examining Services Division; ensures conformance with applicable codes, ordinances and laws; coordinates the provision of building and fire inspections required in the business license process; and performs related duties as assigned.

Salary and Benefits
Competitive Salary Range of $104,851.53 - $159,875.26 Annually; salary placement for non-represented positions is based on a comprehensive compensation review and takes into consideration the candidate's qualifications as well as internal equity
Base Wage increase upon successful completion of Initial Probationary or Qualifying Period
Annual Pay Adjustment Increase or Lump Sum Bonus
General Increase
Contingent upon the City’s financial health and subject to availability of funds as determined by the City (subject to change)
Work-Life Balance
The expected schedule for this position is Monday - Thursday, 7:30 am - 5:30 pm (4 day work week)

Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, structural engineering, architecture, or a closely related field
Six (6) years of plans examining experience; two (2) years of which were at a supervisory level
Possession of Plans Examiner Certification - ICC
Note: An equivalent combination of related training and experience may be considered
Must possess and maintain a Nevada or border state driver's license, as defined by NRS 483
Nevada registration as a Professional Engineer or Licensed Architect or ability to obtain through reciprocity within one (1) year of appointment
Desirable: registration as a Certified Building Official
