Base pay range
$16.50/hr - $18.00/hr
Responsibilities
Model and deliver a distinctive and delightful customer experience.
Register sales on assigned cash register, providing customers with courteous, fair, friendly, and efficient checkout service.
Assist the pharmacist, under direct supervision, in the practice of pharmacy, including using pharmacy systems to obtain patient and drug information and process prescriptions.
Engage customers and patients by greeting them and offering assistance with products and services. Resolve customer issues and answer questions to ensure a positive experience.
Provide customers with courteous, friendly, fast, and efficient service.
Recommend items for sale, recommend trade‑ups, and assist customers in locating products through the OTC aisle.
Keep counters and shelves clean and well merchandised, take inventory, and maintain records.
Perform duties assigned by Pharmacy Manager, Staff Pharmacist, or Store Manager, including entering patient and drug information, verifying medication accuracy, and assisting pharmacists with scheduling and workflow.
Report prescription errors to pharmacist on duty and adhere to company policies and the Walgreen Co. Pharmacy Code of Conduct.
Handle telephone calls that do not require pharmacist attention, including those to physicians.
Process manual claims for third‑party prescription services and perform other clerical duties as assigned.
Assist with pharmacy department inventory management activities and ensure compliance with state and local laws regarding regulated products.
Maintain knowledge of store systems, store equipment, and company asset protection techniques.
Assist with exterior and interior maintenance, ensuring a clean and orderly store condition.
Complete special assignments and other tasks as assigned.
Basic Qualifications
Fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English (except in Puerto Rico).
Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.
Preferred Qualifications
Six months of experience in a retail environment.
Prior work experience with Walgreens.
Good math skills for accurate prescription dispensing.
Good computer skills.
Knowledge of store inventory control.
PTCB certification.
Training & Personal Development
Earn and maintain PTCB certification through the designated PTCB training program and/or state‑required certification/registration.
Attend training and complete required personnel training, PPLs requested by manager or assigned by corporate, and acquire continuing education credits.
Maintain knowledge and skill in healthcare and pharmacy, including latest news and developments.
